	Heismusikk / Elevator Music is a work consisting of 33 miniatures for 5 solo musicians to be played in 5 individual, small elevators – intimate impromptu performances in tiny spaces.

	Gåologi (2022) is a collaboration with composer/performer/writer Alwynne Pritchard. The performance project explores what walking does to our minds and bodies and poses questions about how we design our cities and surrounding areas.

ord/word/Wort &#38;amp; land/land/Land (2017), Eva’s debut as a theatre maker, was premiered at BIT Teatergarasjen in Bergen. The performance is part concert, part performance, part installation, and deals with questions of language and identity within similar cultures.&#38;nbsp;

	VOICE &#38;amp; STRINGS &#38;amp; TIMPANI#music&#38;amp;sound


Voice &#38;amp; Strings &#38;amp; Timpani is the latest project of the duo Strings &#38;amp; Timpani, consisting of guitarist Stephan Meidell and drummer Øyvind Hegg-Lunde. The project came to life as a commission for the Nattjazz festival in 2016 and was released as a record on Hubro in November 2020.

Eva Pfitzenmaier (*1982) works as a vocalist, performer, composer, and writer within a range of different projects and across artistic fields.

Born and raised in the south of Germany, she studied voice and improvisation at the conservatory of Amsterdam (2002-2006) and is based in Bergen, Norway since 2008.

Her current works include commissions for different ensembles and musicians, collaborations with choreographers and visual artists, the production of her own performances, and the solo project By The Waterhole, with which she has toured in Europe, the USA, and Japan.

Eva’s music draws inspiration from contemporary, electronic, and popular music as well as folkloristic music from all around the world. In her work, she explores how different artistic expressions can be combined in order to create a holistic art experience and tries to find those short moments of instability and vulnerability which reflect the human condition.


Eva is also regularly teaching composition for children and engaging in the local experimental music and theatre scene as initiator and organizer.
She is currently a PhD fellow in artistic research at the Grieg Academy, Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen.

	Agility is a choreographical composition for one performer (voice and movement) and tape where I focus on the movement of dogs in play and the interaction between dog and human being in play, work and competition.


Humans tend to humanise animals, attributing human features and characteristics especially to pets. The choreographical elements in Agility turn this mechanism around – the human becomes the dog, copying movements and body language of dogs.

All We Own / And Now This (20’)&#38;nbsp;is a piece for two percussionists (gran cassa), one vocalist, tape, cassette and stuff.


It’s a piece about decluttering &#38;amp; recluttering, nostalgia, and the absurdity of consumerism and was written for YrrY Ensemble.

	All We Own / And Now This came to be during Eva’s participation in the mentoring programme “Borealis Ung Komponist” by the Borealis Festival in Bergen, where emerging composers get to write a piece for a set ensemble, guided by four different internationally known composers as mentors.


Eva says about the piece:

“A couple of years ago I did the so-called “30 day minimalism challenge”, a system for decluttering your house. On the first day you find one thing you don’t need, want, or use anymore and give or throw it away. On day 2 you find two things, on day 3 three things and so on. I finished the challenge and got rid of 465 items from my house and some more after that. Now my house feels just as full. Did I really acquire more than 465 things during the last two years?

How to take the urgent need for less stuff and more sustainability serious when the queen of tidying and minimalising herself, Marie Kondo, launches an online shop where you can buy her favourite things?

We pick, buy, throw, keep, get, hold on to what we don't need, we break it, we tape it, forget it, buy.... “

	The title of the piece is rather self-descriptive: it’s about bowling, about the mesmerising movement of bowling pins flying about in the strangest patterns when being knocked over by the ball, or dangling from the strings when being pulled up, and it offers a (im)possible scenario of the secret life of a bowling ball. The intriguing sounds that pianist Else Olsen S. coaxes out of the piano without any form of electronic processing, provide building blocks for the perfect soundtrack for bowling – or maybe the bowling pins provide the perfect visualisation for this sound-exploring music piece.
